July 3 2014 – Speech From the Throne

Following the recent Ontario Election, where the Liberal Party won a majority government, the newest session of Parliament opened by acknowledging that we are on the Traditional Territories of Indigenous People across Ontario.

The Throne Speech lays out the big picture of what the government plans to do. Included in this are the very important issues of Poverty Reduction, Homelessness Prevention, and Community Hub development – all things PPRN is dedicated to working on.

Upcoming Provincial Election – Affordable Housing must be an issue

According to the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association, at the end of 2012, 158,445 households were waiting for an affordable home. It’s time to tell Queen’s Park that this is unacceptable. For more information on how to get involved, check out their website.
